About Ecotopia: Susan and Stephen Tchudi host this weekly program on KZFR 90.1 Chico, Tuesdays, 5-6 pm. Join us for interviews with national and local experts in issues ranging from water to population to homesteading to energy and from do-it-yourself to what-can-we do? Past program notes and recordings are archived on this site.
The title of the show comes from Ernest Callenbach's book, Ecotopia, which describes a utopian society based on sustainability. It was a "cult classic" in the 1970s and still presents a brilliant view of what our culture could be like if we were to pursue sustainable pracices.
Stephen and Susan are former college English professors who now live in Yankee Hill, California, pursuing retirement careers that include herb cultivation, music, volunteerism, community radio, and living on the farm with their son Cheetah and their amazing daughter-in-law Sammey.
